The American Dream Is Still Alive—But It Won’t Wait for You

Everywhere we turn, we’re surrounded by headlines telling us why we should be worried.

Interest rates.

Politics.

The economy.

Inflation.

The uncertainty of tomorrow.

If we’re not careful, all of that noise can convince us to put our dreams on hold.

I believe the American Dream is still alive and well.

In fact, I see it every single day across Northeast Oklahoma.

I meet young couples buying their first home. Families purchasing acreage so their children can grow up with room to roam. Ranchers investing in the future. Entrepreneurs opening businesses. Retirees finally finding the peaceful property they’ve dreamed about for years.

The dream is still there.

The question is—are you moving toward it?

As we reach the halfway point of the year, this is a great time to stop and take inventory.

Ask yourself:

  • Am I closer to my goals today than I was in January?

  • Have I allowed fear to keep me from making decisions?

  • Do I need to adjust my plans for the second half of the year?

  • What is one step I can take this week toward the life I want?

Success rarely happens overnight. It happens one decision at a time.

One conversation.

One investment.

One property.

One opportunity.

One of the things I often tell people is this:

Find a way to get a piece.

Whether it’s your first home, five acres, a hunting property, or a ranch you’ve dreamed about for years, don’t wait for the “perfect” time. Land isn’t getting any cheaper, and every step you take today can help build tomorrow’s opportunities.

This season is also a reminder to enjoy what matters most.

Summer is winding down. School will be starting before we know it. Spend time with your family. Make memories. Slow down long enough to appreciate the life you’re building while continuing to prepare for what’s ahead.

As a woman of faith, I also believe fear is one of the greatest obstacles to progress. When fear becomes our guide, we often stop moving forward. But faith, wisdom, and courage allow us to keep taking the next right step—even when the future isn’t completely clear.

The American Dream has never been about having an easy path. It’s about believing that with hard work, perseverance, and hope, tomorrow can be better than today.

That’s still true.

So take a look at where you are today.

Celebrate how far you’ve come.

Adjust where you need to.

Then step into the second half of this year with confidence, purpose, and hope.

Your American Dream is still worth pursuing.
